 Program of Free Treatment for Diabetes Patients Expanded in Goa
The Goa Health Ministry has revealed that it will be expanding its free treatment to diabetes patients to anyone who has registered in the diabetic registry with the health department.
The announcement was made by the Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane who said that the free service will be extended to those who are seeking treatment with private doctors or clinics provided they register their name with the health department.

Currently, only those who visit government hospitals are provided free treatment while includes free medicines and insulin injections.

“Once Goans who are seeking treatment with the private doctors in the state are registered with the diabetic registry of the health department, then we will consider extending free treatment to these patients suffering from diabetes”, Rane said, adding that the health department will be aided by the Novo Nordisk Education Foundation (NNEF) in maintaining the registry.
