Program Launched to Check the Spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
In order to check the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, The University of Canberra, Australian National University and ACT Health have introduced a Chlamydia screening program.

This program launched at selected Canberra pharmacies will offer an incentive of $10 for people aged between 16 and 30 years to undergo a urine test for Chlamydia.

Explaining that this a new way of encouraging people to take care of their health, UC Head of Pharmacy Professor Gabrielle Cooper said, "This project is to try and increase access through community pharmacies as a way of getting people who may not normally go and get tested, to get tested and treated, particularly focusing on the ACT region."
