Over a Third of Brits Struggle to Climb Stairs
A new study conducted by a healthcare society has revealed that more than a third of Britons struggle to climb a flight of stairs or are winded when trying to catch a bus.
The survey, conducted by Benenden Healthcare Society, included more than 2,000 adults across the country who were asked a number of question with regards to their level of fitness and the amount of physical exercise done.

More than 80 percent of those who were surveyed said that they were winded when they tried to catch a bus while 54 percent admitted that they opt for elevators rather than walking up the stairs.

“It’s clear Brits are finding the simplest exercises a challenge and it’s quite shocking to see such relatively short distances putting people quickly out of breath. Small wonder, then, that an easy stereotype arises of Brits being ‘couch potatoes’ slumped in front of the television”, Benenden Healthcare Society’s Neil Barnes said.
