Live Abortion Programme on Radio by BBC

A live programme from an abortion clinic will feature interviews with women undergoing terminations will be broadcast on radio by the BBC.

The two-hour-long radio show is due to air next month, the Telegraph reported.

Abortion Ultrasound Bill Held Back by Virginia
A final vote on Tuesday was delayed by lawmakers in Virginia on a highly contested bill that would oblige women in the eastern US state to undertake a transvaginal ultrasound preceding an abortion.

Pro-life campaigners have criticised the move, saying it amounted to "free advertising" for abortion.

Victoria Derbyshire, who will present the show on BBC Radio Five Live, said it would give an insight "into an area of British life which is taboo".

The clinic involved in the programme has not been named yet.

US Activists Say Abortion Amendment is Unfair to Women
The most pro-choice US government in decades has been accused by rights activists of throwing women under the bus as regards abortion.

"What we want to do is to talk to everybody involved who works in a clinic - the receptionist, the doctors, the consultants, the counsellors, and, if patients agree, we will talk to them," she said.

A spokeswoman for the Prolife Alliance said: "This latest initiative from the abortion lobby will inevitably provide free advertising for the organisation in question which surely cannot qualify as an exercise in objective journalism."
