Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has donated $3 million for the protection of sharks and other marine life to a conservation organization.
The 'Wolf of Wall Street' actor's foundation gave Oceana group the grant to help it promote responsible fishing and safeguard the welfare of sharks dolphins and whales in the Pacific and Arctic, Sky News reported.

Chief executive Andy Sharpless said that the sum will be spread over a three-year period and will be used to protect marine animals from being caught and killed as "bycatch".

DiCaprio had previously awarded a 3 million dollars grant to the World Wildlife Fund to boost a scheme to help Nepal double its wild tiger population by 2022.
