Octogenarians in America suffer from chronic kidney disease, and as a consequence face coronary heart disease too, claims a research study.

The results came out differently, varying from 33 to 51 per cent depending on which marker was used. Using different formulas led to different estimates and the researchers claim that there is no uniform ‘gold standard’ that had been developed or established.
The fact remains that the study established that those with chronic kidney disease were 1.5 to 2 times more likely to have heart disease than those without kidney problems.
Chronic kidney disease is very definitely linked to cardiovascular problems.
