An increase in child violence in England and Wales has been worrying, according to the Cardiff University study, an annual and authoritative source.

Experts, analyzing the causes of the problem state that the economic downturn, rising costs of childcare, and an increased drinking habit may be causing children to become victims of the frustrations in society. They are being increasingly exposed to at-risk situations.
Sean O’Neill, policy director at Children in Wales, said that the study is “another clear reminder, if one was required, of society’s need to effectively protect young children and for this to be seen as a national priority.”
