Hippo Picture Becomes Rage on the Net

A picture taken of a smiling hippo alongside the husband and wife duo Jay and Lauren Parker has quickly become one of the most popular snaps on the internet.

The couple visited San Diego Zoo on their latest holiday trip and snapped the image which includes the smiling hippo, Otis. Parker said that the hippo was placed in the tank with a female hippo, Funani, and the duo had fought against each other just the day before.

Commenting on the fact that he and his wife have become web celebrities since taking the picture, Parker said, “It's kind of strange to think there are people out there with a picture of me on their computer, but I guess I'm just the hippo man as far they're concerned. We took the picture on holiday at San Diego Zoo, my wife is a big fan of animals so we always try and visit somewhere when we are away.”
