Grandfather Who Suffered Multiple Heart Attacks Has Another Child Via IVF

A 67-year old grandfather of two who has recovered from as many as 12 heart attacks has given birth to a baby girl thanks to IVF and wants another child with his wife. Malcolm Lawrence revealed that he was often told that he was too old to be a father or that his health would not permit it. Lawrence revealed that when he and his wife, Ann-Marie, 31, failed to have a child the natural way, he gave a sperm sample that was stored in the Cardiff Hospital as his wife was too young to undergo IVF.

They finally started their IVF course last year and Ann-Marie became pregnant the first time around, giving birth to a baby girl, Cerys-May. Lawrence said that he wants to try and have another baby next year.

“All the staff in the clinic and on the maternity ward were brilliant. They didn’t mention my age and it was not a problem. Now we might try to have another one in a year’s time. We are allowed two cycles with the IVF treatment”, he said.
