The research commissioned by Microsoft found that waiting for a computer to boot up is the most frustrating digital stress for about one in three people working or browsing the net at home.The survey of 4,000 people showed that one out of five people find pop-up messages and notifications of software updates or new downloads quite irritating.
Locating a file, switching programmes or installing new devices were among the easiest tasks.
Almost 23percent respondents said their computers were like Piers Morgan - the most annoying category.
Nearly 20percent liked their PCs to Simon Cowell - the most frustrating.
And 20percent called their comps Carol Vorderman - the most efficient.
Laptop batteries running out, identity theft worries and virus infections were among other frustrations.
