Average Woman Will be Heartbroken Twice Before Meeting the Right Man

A new study has found that an average woman will enjoy two long-term relationships and have her heart broken twice before she finds the right man.

Researchers also said that the average woman will kiss 15 men and suffer four disaster dates before finally settling down with "The One". Furthermore, a woman will have had four one night stands and be stood up once before she settles down. Men, on the other hand, will have six one-night stands and will be stood up twice before settling down, the research said.

The study, which involved 2,000 Brits, was commissioned to mark the paperback release of the international bestseller The Rosie Project. The latter is a book that deals with the quest of one man to find a perfect wife.

"The story was inspired by a friend's struggle to find a partner and although it's a romantic comedy, I hope it raises some questions about how we categorize and idealize people and about the search for connection," author Graeme Simsion said.
