Animal Cruelty Laws Unveiled in China
China has finally unveiled laws to prevent cruelty to pet animals. These rules were framed with the help of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

They prohibit inhumane culling, skinning and killing of animals. Furthermore animals in labs as well as in wildlife are afforded protection for the first time.

"It is a very significant landmark - when it is passed it will be the first time in China's history that the state is sending a clear message to every citizen - 'the way we treat animals matters'," said Paul Littlefair, senior programme manager with the RSPCA's international department.
