Nearly 42 People Have Been Admitted To Suffered Food Poisoning At A Religious Function At Nizgotlung, On The Outskirts Of Tezpur Town In Assam.

Nearly 42 People Have Suffered Food Poisoning At A Religious Function At Nizgotlung, On The Outskirts Of Tezpur Town In Assam. All Of Them Have Been Admitted To Tezpur Civil Hospital.

The Incident Took Place A Week After Food Poisoning Claimed Three Lives In Barpeta District. A Few Hours After Consuming Food, People Complained Of Diarrhoea. More People Began Complaining Of Stomach Ailments And Were Admitted To Hospital.

"They Are Now Stable And Some Of Them Have Already Left For Their Homes," Said Durlov Saikia Of The Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).

Health Officials Collected Water And Food Samples And Sent Them For Tests. Stool Samples Of The Affected Patients Have Also Been Collected For Microbiology Analysis.
