Home-Monitored Blood Pressure to Detect Dementia Risk
Fluctuation in blood pressure on a daily basis increases the risk of dementia even though one may not have high blood pressure. Home monitoring may be more reliable than office measurements because of the "white-coat" effect, in which some people have higher blood pressure in the doctor''s office than they do at home.
