How to Take Mephobarbital and it's Dose


It comes as a tablet, to take by mouth with or without food.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Epilepsy: Average dose for adults: 400 mg to 600 mg (6 grains to 9 grains) daily; children under 5 years: 16 mg to 32 mg (1/4 grain to ½ grain) three or four times daily.
Sedation: Adults: 32 mg to 100 mg (½ grain to 1 ½ grains)–optimum dose, 50 mg (3/4 grain)–three to four times daily. Children: 16 mg to 32 mg (1/4 grain to ½ grain) three to four times daily.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Hypersensitivity.
