Why is Diphenidol Prescribed? (Indications)


This medication is an antiemetic and an antivertigo agent, prescribed for nausea and vomiting. The medication inhibits the receptor activity to control nausea and vomiting. It is also used in the treatment of Meniere's disease.

When should Diphenidol not to be taken? (Contraindications)


Hypersensitivity and Anuria (lack of urine formation and secretion by the kidney).

What is the dosage of Diphenidol ?


Adults: The recommended dose is 25 to 50 milligrams (mg) every four hours as needed.

How should Diphenidol be taken?


It comes as a tablet to take by mouth.

What are the warnings and precautions for Diphenidol ?

* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney disease, ulcer, stomach or bowel disorder, glaucoma, heart disease, any allergies, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
