Bolocofsky also found that weight loss programs with hypnosis were successful for subjects who were ‘higher in self control, weighed less at the start of the program, married and more expressive’.

Also, if you are opting for hypnotherapy, make sure you have a minimum of 8 weeks at your disposal since hypnosis must be practiced on a regular basis for a significant period of time. You need to consult your hypnotist on a weekly basis in addition to self hypnosis. Treatment of obesity with hypnosis is thus a time intensive program.

A big plus point for hypnotherapy is that it is safe.

It doesn’t have any side effects and you are in control of every moment of the hypnotic state. Whether or not hypnosis really helps you lose weight it is certain to give you stress relief and ‘phobia release’. This is because clinical hypnosis is like any other therapeutic modality. It may work for you or it may not, depending upon the extent of your motivation to lose weight.
