Children today love to consume junk food which is over laden with salt especially the processed salty snacks instead of traditional home made food. This has resulted in a difficulty for them to consume foods with lower concentration of salt as their salt receptors are used to high salt intake.
Disasters like childhood hypertension and early development of heart ailments have resulted, which ruin the lives of many and can be corrected by reducing the salt content of foods by 20% (be assured the taste of foods wont change).

And it's noted that fluid and salt intake are interrelated as most children opt for calorie dense drinks or cordial. The risks of childhood obesity is ignored by many parents.
The problem lies in the fact that many don't consider these foods as junk food. According to Heart foundation it's necessary to monitor salt intake and reduce it to 80% in processed foods as they contribute to a big portion of the food consumed by kids.
Many manufacturers are under exceeding pressure to reduce the salt, saturated fat and sugar from their products to get approved by the Heart foundation.
