 Soon Contraceptive Jab for Men
A new jab given to men promises to act as a contraceptive in a manner similar to the Pill in women, but without any accompanying side effects.

The Daily Mail reported that 80 couples are taking part in the trial of the drug, which stimulates the brain to close sperm production. The jab is to be given twice a month.

The jab contains male sex hormone testosterone and synthetic progesterone.

"A lot of women may think it's time men took their turn. When we carried out surveys of women, they were enormously enthusiastic. The single most common reason was they wanted to share the responsibility for contraception," said Prof Richard Anderson of Edinburgh University, who is helping conduct the trial.

Experts say sperm counts return to normal once the injections are stopped.
