Some specific strains of food-borne bacteria are capable of invading the heart causing very serious heart infections.

bacteria Listeria monocytogenes is usually present in chilled ready to consume eateries and in soft cheeses.
Though the infections may be mild, elderly people need to watch out as some infections can be severe and can even attack the Central nervous system.
According to Nancy Freitag, nearly 10 percent of serious listeria infections result in a cardiac infection. Not only are these infections difficult to treat ,nearly one-third are fatal.
