Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller is seriously planning to undergo stress-reduction sessions following a severe bout of pneumonia.

Mueller was admitted into the hospital last week with pneumonia in both lungs, linked to a recent operation for removing her wisdom teeth.

She is presently recuperating in an intensive care unit, and is being administered antibiotics.

But doctors say her slow recovery is due to her high stress levels and weakened immune system.

"The doctors told Brooke on Sunday that if she wants to get better she has to reduce stress and get a lot of R andR (rest and relaxation) in the coming weeks," the Daily Star quoted an insider, as telling People.com.

The source added: "The doctors basically said Brooke is not going to get better without taking her health in her own hands and reducing the stress surrounding her life. She has to do it now."

Mueller's mum is now believed to be checking out recovery centres and spas on the East Coast.
