Glossary
Fontanelle: The soft spots on a baby's head where the bones of the skull have not fused together. At birth a baby has a fontanelle on both the top and back of the head.Urinary Tract Infections (UTI): Refers to anywhere in the whole length of the urinary system from the kidneys, through their collecting channels, the ureters, bladder and urethra.
Placenta: A flattened circular organ in the uterus of pregnant mammals that supplies oxygen and nutrients to the growing baby.
Amniotic sac: Membranes, which contain the fetus and the amniotic fluid. The amniotic sac and the amniotic fluid are often refereed to as the "bag of waters."
