Women Smokers Not Immune from Health Risks

A new report says that women smokers are not immune from the ill effects of cigarettes and suffer most of the consequences seen in men.

Smoking puts women at an increased risk of lung cancer, heart disease and complications of oral contraceptive use. In addition t this women smokers also face the risk of developing oral cancer, esophageal cancer and cervical cancer.

Cigarette smoking causes skin wrinkling, according to the American Lung Association. Furthermore women smokers have twice the risk of developing coronary heart disease.

Quitting is not all that easy, but substitutes like such as nicotine patch, gum lozenge or inhaler can reduce nicotine cravings and help you quit. Try to get counseling and drop the habit altogether as it is not worth risking other health aspects at all.
