A Brit woman lost 31.75kgs after going on a burger diet.

However, don’t start rushing to the next fast food joint to tuck into burgers, for midwife Heather Pointer’s food was not fatfilled burgers but healthy ones made with extra-lean meat and brown rolls.

The 33-year-old mum-of-two insisted that when made properly, even the ‘junk food’ could be healthy.

"People believe burgers are junk food but if they don't have to be fattening if they are made properly with the healthiest ingredients," the Mirror quoted her, as saying.

"I use extra lean mince, garlic and chillis. I grill them and have a wholemeal roll, a cheese slice and lean bacon. I have them three times a week," she said.

Pointer’s decision to go on a diet came after seeing photos of herself on holiday in Majorca last year.

"I would often go to Burger King and McDonald's for breakfast or lunch. When I saw the holiday photos I looked really big," she said.

"It was such a shock. I didn't recognise myself. I feel so much healthier now.

"Before, shopping for clothes was a nightmare and I never felt nice in what I wore. But now I go shopping all the time."

Before her diet, Pointer weighed in at 92 kilos. She is now a little over 60 kilos.
