An Australian author has devised a new DVD game called 'Body Mechanics,' to create awareness about the ill effects of obesity in children. While playing it, the game teaches youngsters the disadvantages of obesity.

The game begins with an introduction to the game plot by Neuro, a Yoda-like wise man. He requests players to join the team of superheroes to fight the Evil Coalition of Harm and Disease, according to reports.

The fighting occurs within the body of Jack Decayd. 'Jack will die soon if the villains of the Obeez City are not contained,' says Neuro.

The game is in a package of a two-disc set and comes with an animated movie.

Nearly 16 percent of children aged 6 to 19 in the U.S are obese, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is feared that 80 percent of overweight children grow up to become obese adults and hence are at risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.
