I'm so lucky. Miracles do happen. This baby really is a godsend.

"I'm so lucky. Miracles do happen. This baby really is a godsend."

An ecstatic Cassie Chapple of UK had the surprise of her life when she was told that she was already pregnant when she went for an IVF test as an option, as she had started HRT, and even more so since she was told she would need an egg donor for conception. This after three consultants had told her she had "next to no chance" of having more children.

Her problems started following her previous pregnancy in which she gave birth to a baby boy, Blake, now ten. Her menstrual cycle was erratic but she put it down to hormonal imbalance.

She decided on finding out if she could conceive again, after meeting Steve Fudge at age 39, and who is now her partner, though they were not thinking of having children.

In 2008 Cassie was referred to Ashford hospital, Middlesex. Docs told her she'd started early menopause at age 21 and needed hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to boost estrogen, but that wouldn't help her get pregnant,  only protect her from osteoporosis and heart disease.

But astoundingly, she found out she was five weeks pregnant just as test results confirmed her chances of conceiving again even with IVF were slim. And the baby is due to on her birthday, July 12.
