Anaerobic bacteria: Bacteria that grow in the absence of oxygen.

Appendicitis: It is a condition where the appendix (small pouch on the right side of the abdomen connected to the colon) becomes swollen, inflamed and pus-filled. It is a potentially dangerous situation if timely surgery is not provided on time.


Gram-positive bacteria: These bacteria are those that test positive in the Gram stain test.

Intrauterine device (IUD): It is a contraceptive device inserted into the vagina.
