by Julia Samuel on June 23, 2016 at 3:51 PM

Hyderabad firm Saince HealthTech has come up with a mobile app to assist doctors write prescriptions. It would make it easy for patients to follow instructions and improve the process of delivery at pharmacies.

The mobile-based electronic prescription application, RapidRx is loaded with a database of over 26,800 licensed drugs sold in India making it unique, president and CEO Raghuvir Vedantham said, to announce the launch.

‘The unique feature of RapidRx is accessibility of a first ever comprehensive database of over 26,800 licensed drugs sold in India that include generics, brands, strengths, in-take method and dosage.’

The database of both generic and branded drugs provides information on their strength and in-take method. Besides prescribing, the app helps doctors provide instructions about the dosage and duration for which the drugs need to be used, he said.

"It is a very intuitive app that enables doctors to write prescriptions in a few seconds," he said, adding that usage would minimise medication errors.

The app allows doctors to suggest inclusion of medicines not figuring in the database apart from making banned drugs unavailable. Though available free for download on Google Play and Apple App Stores, the app would be activated only after a verification process of the doctors and pharmacies by Saince HealthTech.
