Manchester United Induced Addisonian Crisis Could Put Fan in Coma

A 58-year old Manchester United fan risks her life evrytime she watches her favorite team play. Doctors have diagnosed her as having a rare and life-threatening condition called Addisonian crisis, caused by a lack of stress hormone cortisol. It can lead to low blood pressure, coma and death.


The lady experiences a range of nervous symptoms, including anxiety, palpitations, panic, light headedness and a sense of impending doom whenever the Red Devils are in action. The woman is now undergoing cortisol treatment to combat her symptoms.

This case has been reported in the British Medical Journal.
