The World Health Organization (WHO) states that diabetes is currently one of the biggest health concerns of the world. Thus, the theme of this year's World Health Day is Prevent, Treat, Beat diabetes.


The number of diabetes cases is increasing rapidly, particularly in low-and-middle-income groups and developing countries. India has more diabetics than any other nation in the world, according to statistics from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). One in seven births is affected by gestational diabetes. A person dies from diabetes every 6 seconds. These statistics indicate the need to take preventive measure to reduce the risks of diabetes.

‘In India, about 69.2 million adults and over 70,000 children under the age of 14 suffer from diabetes.’
