CE Approval Gained by Biotronik's ICD/CRT-D Device

Berlin-based cardiovascular medical devices manufacturer, BIOTRONIK revealed that it has received the CE approval mark for its Ilesto 7 implantable cardioverter-defibrillator/cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (ICD/CRT-D).

The Illesto 7 makes use of ProMRI to access potentially life-saving MR scans and also provides the greatest longevity available for such devices, up to 11.5 years for the single chamber ICD and 7.5 years for the CRT-D device.

Doctors across Europe are currently performing implants of the first Ilesto 7 second-generation ProMRI devices with the patients also able to take advantage of BIOTRONIK's in-house remote monitoring system, Home Monitoring.
