A Few Cups of Coffee a Day Can Reduce the Risk of Liver Cancer

A new study found that drinking coffee daily could reduce the risk of liver cancer. Researchers at the World Cancer Research Fund in London and the American Institute for Cancer Research teamed up together to study the link between increased coffee consumption and reduced risk of liver cancer.

The study comprised of 8.2 million people and the researchers analysed 24,500 liver cases from 35 studies to reach this conclusion. The study points that drinking 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day could reduce the risk of liver cancer by half.

Coffee is rich in antioxidants and contains cancer-fighting properties, thus reduces the risk of liver cancer. Coffee is also effective in preventing mood swings, strokes and memory issues.

While obesity, alcohol consumption and smoking increases the risk of cancer, coffee may reduce the risk of developing cancer. Researchers advise that men can drink two cups of coffee a day, while women can drink only one cup of coffee a day to reduce the risk of liver cancer.

Researchers concluded that exercise, diet and lifestyle choices also play a key role in how coffee helps to reduce the risk of liver cancer by half.
