India's 78-year-old Shridhar Chillal, who has not cut his fingernails since 1952, has made it to the Guinness Book of World records for the longest fingernails on one hand ever.

The combined length of Chillal's fingernails is 909.6cm and one of his thumbnails alone is two meters long.

Chillal said, "I have paid a price for my terrifying talons. My nails were nothing but trouble in my younger years. My passion of growing nails started when I was beaten up by a teacher in school for breaking one of my nails and was told that I would never understand the kind of care required not to break them. My family members opposed but I decided from that point on that I would never cut my nails again. This was the biggest goal in my life."

Chillal has offered to dedicate his nails to a museum.
