12 More Swine Flu Cases Reported in Rajasthan, Total Number of Cases Cross 6,800

The H1N1 virus is a seasonal flu virus that has originated from the pigs but transmitted mostly from human to human. At least 12 more swine flu cases have been reported in the last seven days in Rajasthan. With these new cases the total number H1N1 infections in the state since January 2015 has crossed the 6,800 mark, revealed a health department official.


The official said, "Swine flu positive cases total up to 6,803 from January 1 till October 26. The death toll due to the highly contagious H1N1 virus from January to October 26 was 460. A maximum of 91 deaths were reported from Jaipur. The maximum number of 2,471 positive cases was recorded in Jaipur, followed by 370 in Jodhpur, 325 in Ajmer and the remaining in other cities and towns of the state."

‘At least 12 more swine flu cases have been reported in the last seven days in Rajasthan. With these new cases the total number H1N1 infections in the state since January 2015 has crossed the 6,800 mark, revealed a health department official.’

The Rajasthan government has launched an awareness campaign on swine flu. It has also decided to initiate screening of patients showing symptoms similar to that of swine flu.
