This combination medication contains corticosteroid and bronchodilator, prescribed for asthma. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing and preventing the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.

When should Mometasone Furoate and Formoterol Fumarate not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with status asthmaticus (a prolonged and severe asthma attack that does not respond to standard treatment) and hypersensitivity

The recommended dose is two inhalations 100-mcg/5 mcg twice daily.

* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, heart or liver disease, high blood pressure, ketoacidosis, low blood potassium levels, seizures, tuberculosis, weakened immune system, thyroid problems, weakened bones, eye problems, infection, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, children less than 12 years old, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* Avoid contact with eyes.
* It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
* Monitor lung function, blood pressure, and eye exams regularly while taking this medication.
* Avoid live vaccination.
