This medication is an Orphan drug, used as an adjunct to a low-fat diet and other lipid-lowering treatments in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.

When should Lomitapide not to be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with liver problem and pregnant women.

What is the dosage of Lomitapide?

PO- The recommended initial dose is 5mg once daily.

How should Lomitapide be taken?

It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, at least 2 hours after the evening meal.

* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver, kidney diseases, intestinal problem, any allergy, who are taking other medications and breastfeeding women.
