Why is Desoximetasone Prescribed? (Indications)


This medication is a topical (for the skin) steroid, prescribed for inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

When should Desoximetasone not to be taken? (Contraindications)


Hypersensitivity.

What is the dosage of Desoximetasone?


Adult: Topical- As 0.05-0.25% cream/gel/lotion/ointment: Apply twice daily.

How should Desoximetasone be taken?


It comes as cream, gel, lotion and ointment for topical application, apply as directed by your physician.

What are the warnings and precautions for Desoximetasone?

* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of skin infection, measles, thinning of the skin, tuberculosis (TB), chicken pox, shingles, recent vaccination, who are taking other medications, any allergy, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* For external use only; avoid contact with eyes and nose, and mouth.

Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, inflammation hair follicles, abnormal hair growth, pimples, skin eruptions, loss of skin color, skin inflammation, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin scary, and itchy rashes.
