The legendary 116-year-old recipe for HP sauce known for its unforgettable taste which most Brits would vouch for is now slightly altered. This change has raised the ire of many Brits.

From a health perspective, Heinz which makes this sauce chose to reduce the salt content from 2.1g per 100g to 1.3g per 100g to keep in line with the recent directive from the UK government.

People who have got used to the original taste of the sauce are finding it hard to digest this small change in taste, and complaints are pouring in.

Heinz has clarified that the change in taste is inevitable and has been effected as per the directive of the UK government, a move which undoubtedly left a bad taste in people's mouths.
