Muscle Pain? Drink Cherry Juice

Researchers from the University of Vermont say that drinking cherry juice may be the antidote to muscular pain. Cherry juice contains a number of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that can deal with a number of inflammatory conditions.

In one study The British Journal of Sports Medicine, researchers said that men and women who ate 45 cherries per day had low levels of inflammatory markers in their blood. The study examined 14 male college students who consumed 12 ounces of a blend of fresh cherry juice for eight days.

On the fourth day they participated in some elbow exercises and two weeks later muscle strength and pain were measured. Those who drank cherry juice had better strength levels and less pain.

Researchers say men and women with chronic pain should try to drink cherry juice to relieve some of their pain.
