AIDS – A Powerful Mankiller

Aids (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) was first suspected to be a problem with immune system since it made 5 gay men in Los Angeles to suffer from a new infection.

Later, it was detected as AIDS due to a powerful HIV virus that have circulated all over the world and more than 22 million people died and about 38 million were supposed to be living with it – 25 years ago it was published on June 5th.

In 1981, a US government publication (June) reported, it may be because of any infectious disease.

After a long time, AIDS was also found among cocaine and heroin users, whom were supposed to inject it.

UNAIDS recorded more than 25 million death cases due to the mankiller AIDS. Following gay men, sub-Saharan African’s also suffered. Researchers claim that it may have got from chimpanzees to humans around the year 1930 in Central Africa.

It was worse being 2/3rd of people with AIDS all over the world were in the sub-Saharan Africa.

Carol Bellamy, the former Unicef director, said: In a survey, covering 7 countries life expectancy of HIV patients has reduced to 40 years or even below.

From the most dreadful state it has came to a state which can be managed with pills – AIDS researchers says.

Experts say Africans are the huge to die (nearly 100 million) of AIDS by 2025. UNAIDS spends more, to provide drugs and prevention campaigns across the world and expects the numbers to come down in future.
