What is Gardner's Syndrome ?  

Presence of multiple polyps in the colon along with tumors outside the colon is the prominent feature of Gardner's syndrome. Extracolonic tumors can occur as osteotomas of the skull, cancer of thyroid, epidermoid cysts and fibromas. Desmoid tumors are also common in this condition.


Cause(s) :  Genetics, Inherited in an autosomal dominant manner.

Symptoms :  
  • Growth of polyps in colon
  • Bony tumors in skull
  • Development of extra teeth
  • Development of cysts under the skin on various parts of the body
Diagnosis and Tests :  
  • Colonoscopy for checking presence of polyps
  • Blood test for detecting APC gene mutation

I think the name of Hun syndrome is (Ramsay-Hunt syndrome)or herpes zoster oticus.I never heared of such name is it real?
