What is Goodpasture's Syndrome ?
A rare autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack our own lungs and kidneys. Bleeding from the lungs.
Cause(s) :
An insult to the blood vessels taking blood from and to the lungs could establish anti-glomerular basement membrane to come into contact with the alveoli. The insult could be due to exposure to various chemicals like metal dust inhalation, smoke, hydrocarbons, cocaine, etc.
High-oxygen environments are also known to cause this syndrome.
