Test : chloride


Indications : Cushing syndrome,chronic nephritis,Addison disease

Physiology : Normally chloride is excreated in urine along with sodium as sodium chloride.In pathological conditions diminished amount of chloride is excreated.

Normal Range : Normal values-170-250millimoles of chloride

Interpretation : Lower levels indicates vommiting and diarrhoea.Decreased activity of tubular reabsorption
