3Interpretation : Decrease in RBC count may be due to the result of red cell loss by bleeding or hemolysis, failure of marrow production, or may be due to secondary dilution factors (intravenous fluids) Increase in RBC count may be the result of primary polycythemia including stress. RBC count is normally higher in individuals residing at high altitudes.
Test Method : Manual haemocytometer chamber count.
