Men between the ages of 20 to 40 are more prone to this condition and should take precautions. There are a few risk factors that can lead to an increase in the chances of getting this disease and include -
- Eating improperly handled or cooked food - this may lead to dysentery or diarrhea and make you prone to the condition
- Having a new sexual partner
- Being bisexual or homosexual
- Suffering from a sexually transmitted disease
Other risk factors that one does not have control include -
- Genetic propensity by inheriting the genetic trait associated with Reactive Arthritis (HLA-B27)
- A Family member suffering form with Reactive Arthritis
