Osteogenesis Imperfecta - Treatment

There is no known treatment for this condition. Attempts have been made to administer some bone-forming substances, but with limited success. Several research teams have tried to induce osteosclerosis by injecting known hormones that induce bone formation, but again the rate of failures is very high.

It is worth noting that the condition shows some improvement with the onset of puberty, especially in girls. This may have something to do with the presence of progesterone and estrogen, the female sex hormones that have a protective effect on the bones.
