Glossary
Estrogen: Female sex hormone produced primarily by ovaries and in smaller amounts by conversion of male hormone made in the adrenal gland. In breast cancer, estrogen may promote the growth of cancer cells.Pregnancy: Growth of an embryo/fetus in the uterus.
Puberty: The time when body changes particular to the sex occur and when reproduction becomes possible.
Breast cancer: A cancer that affects the breasts or mammary glands.
