Glossary
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT): A treatment in which seizures are generated in the brain by bursts of electrical stimulation in patients to provide relief from psychiatric disorders.
Hypoperfusion: Inadequate perfusion of body tissues, resulting in reduced supply of oxygen and nutrients.
Multiple Sclerosis: A demyelinating disease in which the immune system damages the protective covering of nerves (myelin sheath).
Stroke: Also called cerebrovascular accident (CVA), it occurs due to damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply.
Ventricles of Brain: A set of four interconnected cavities (ventricles) in the brain, where CSF is produced.
