Uttar Pradesh Government Contemplates Special Initiatives for Pharma Sector

Taking advantage of enormous improvement in industrial sector in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government is contemplating special provisions, which may be in the form of a sector-specific policy or package, for encouraging pharma industry.

Mahesh Kumar Gupta, principal secretary, infrastructure and industrial development said "Owing to the steps taken by State government, there has been a marked improvement in perception and 'Brand UP' is fast gaining credibility among investors."

Joint executive director, Udyog Bandhu, Kanchan Verma, said that under the new initiative, the focus would be on adoption of good manufacturing practices, technology upgradation and logistics.
