Introducing Mynx Cadence

by Savitha C Muppala on January 14, 2011 at 5:35 PM

Access Closure of Mountain View, CA has come out with a current version of its Mynx vascular closure device, the Mynx Cadence.

According to the company representative , the important difference between the Mynx Vascular Closure Device and St. Jude's well-known Angio-Seal system is in the manner of closure of the femoral artery and the chemical make-up of the sealant.

The new Mynx cadence may have the following changes in its design.

A new shuttle stop while using the sealant helps cut the chances of over-shuttling. Further, a single marker on the advancer tube gives a exact picture about sealant compression. A new sealant sleeve has a protective role during sealant deployment and helps cut short the procedure time.

The Mynx Vascular Closure Device employs an easy to use water soluble polyethylene glycol (PEG) sealant to seal the femoral artery, and in 30 days this dissolves on its own completely healing the artery.
